What is Judgement?
Judgement, also called Kachuful, is a bidding-and-trick-taking card game for 3 to 7 players. Every player bids how many tricks they'll win each round and scores by matching that bid exactly, rather than by simply winning as many tricks as possible.
Is Judgement the same as Kachuful?
Yes — Judgement and Kachuful (sometimes spelled Kachhi Ful) are the same game; Kachuful is the more common name in parts of India, Judgement the more common English name.
How many players do you need?
Anywhere from 3 to 7. Unlike Dehla Pakad and Sweep, there are no fixed partnerships — every player scores for themselves. You can also start a solo game against AI bots filling the remaining seats.
How is trump chosen?
It isn't chosen or revealed during play at all. Each of the 8 rounds has a fixed trump suit set by a rotation — Clubs, Hearts, Spades, Diamonds, repeating — known to everyone from the moment the round starts.
What is the hook rule?
It's the one restriction on bidding: the dealer, who always bids last, can't choose the one value that would make everyone's bids add up to exactly that round's card count. Every other player bids completely freely.
What happens in the blind round?
Round 8 is played blind: everyone is dealt their usual 1 card, but nobody — including its own owner — may look at it until every player has bid. The moment the dealer's bid is accepted, every card is revealed at once and the round's single trick is played.
How does scoring work?
Miss your bid, whether over or under, and you score 0 for the round. Hit a bid of 0 or 1 exactly and you score a flat 10 points. Hit a bid of 2 or more exactly and you score 10 points per trick bid — a bid of 5, made exactly, is 50 points.
Is it better to bid high or low?
Neither — the only thing that matters is bidding what you can actually deliver. A correct bid of 0 scores exactly the same 10 points as a correct bid of 1, and a wrong bid of 6 scores exactly the same 0 points as a wrong bid of 1.
How do you win a match?
Scores add up across all 8 rounds. Whoever has the highest cumulative total once round 8 is scored wins the match. If two or more players are tied for the top score, they share the win.
Why can't I bid any number I want as the dealer?
The hook rule exists so that at least one player is always guaranteed to miss their bid that round — without it, every player bidding exactly the number of cards they hold could theoretically all succeed, which would make bidding trivial rather than a genuine prediction.
Can I play Judgement online for free?
Yes. This site lets you create a private room for 3 to 7 players, share the code with friends, and play in the browser at no cost — or start a solo game against AI opponents.
