What taash means
Taash is simply the word for playing cards. Taash ke patte are the cards themselves, and a taash wala game is any game played with them. The word covers the whole family — there is no single game called “taash”, in the same way there is no single game called “cards” in English.
You will see it transliterated both ways. Taash and tash refer to exactly the same thing; neither spelling is more correct, and both are widely used online.
The classic taash games

- Call Break — Four players, spades permanently trump. Call your tricks, then fight to deliver at least that many. Rules.
- Sweep (Seep) — Four players in partnerships, no trump. Capture cards from the floor, build piles, and race to 100 points. Rules.
Which one should you start with?
If you have never played a taash game before, Call Break is the easiest to pick up: spades are always trump, so there is no trump-selection rule to learn. Dehla Pakad is the natural next step if you want a partnership game, and Judgement is the one to try if you enjoy prediction — you score by bidding your tricks exactly.
Sweep is the odd one out, and worth trying for that reason: there is no trump and no tricks at all, just capturing and building from a shared floor.
